Okay, I've been sitting here for at least 5 minutes trying to identify the second plant. I've had it in my herb garden, I see it in my mind, I can remember the feel of it, and I don't like the smell. So, I cheated and started looking at images. Sage!

Stachys byzantina or more commonly know as "Lambs Ear". One of my favorite perennials. Come on you know you can't stump a Hoosier. :-)
