Visions of Christmas: A Renaissance Nativity, combines texts from Isaiah, Matthew, and Luke, with fifteenth century paintings called triptychs.
A triptych is an image in three parts which is often displayed in a folding-hinged frame so that the outer "wings" can be closed, thereby protecting the painting. The book is designed so that the reader gets to open these hinged frames and reveal the glory beneath them. As you might expect, the paintings are rich in color and symbolism.
This beautiful book covers events from The Annunciation through Epiphany, and is worth the extra effort it might take to get your hands on one. One of my favorite book sites, isbn.nu, has several used copies available.
